Note: In English there is no way "you" or "you" formal. Thus the native speakers do not even have conceptualized as a form here called "formal". It must be understood then that the masculine, feminine and neuter form are the same, the only difference is the gender.
Also, keep in mind that in English there is only one way to "your" and "you", "you", except in the reflexive form that distinguishes between singular (yourself) and plural (yourselves).
Neuter Form (Forma neutra)
English pronouns distinguish between masculine (he), feminine (she) and neutral (it), as shown in table pronouns.
The personal pronoun "it" is used when referring to things, animals do not know their gender or time (schedule and weather). The plural form of "it" is "they".
Example:
- Where is it [the book]? (¿Dónde está [el libro]?)
- What time is it? (¿Qué hora es?)
- It is raining. (Está lloviendo.)
- Note: "It" is a very important particle in which English speakers Spanish language are often neglected.
Function (Función)
- Within personal pronouns, English distinguishes between pronouns depending on personal pronouns subject and object function.The pronoun in subject functionThe subject of a sentence is the person or thing that performs the action of the verb. They are used when the pronoun is the subject of the sentence. This pronoun in English, unlike Spanish, must always appear.
- I am ill. (Yo estoy enfermo.)
- Subject = I
- You are tall. (Tú eres alto.)
- Subject = you
- He is handsome. (Él es guapo.)
- Subject = he
- We are tired. (Nosotros estamos cansados.)

- The function object pronoun
- This pronoun is placed after the verb to supplementing or behind prepositions like "for", "to", "with" and "at".
- I can help you. (Puedo ayudarte.)
- Subject = I, Object = you
- Can you see him? (¿Puedes verle?)
- Subject = you, Object = him
- He is going to the party with us. (Está yendo a la fiesta con nosotros.)
- Subject = he, Object = us
- It [the letter] is for you. (Es [la carta] para ti.)
